Suspicious object found on Northern Ireland motorway

A suspicious object has been found on the M1 motorway in County Tyrone, police have said.

The object was found on the M1 at Tamnamore, about five miles from Dungannon, on Tuesday night.

The object was dealt with by Army bomb disposal teams and further daylight searches are being carried out in the area.

The motorway is closed city-bound between junctions 13 and 14. Motorists should take an alternative route.
