iPhone Payment System: Square Announces Public Trial

Square has finally announced the immediate public trial of their new payment system for iPhone users, a piece of software mixed with hardware (a dongle) that has been touted by the company for a while now.

In order to enjoy the trial users will need to sign up for the pilot which they can do by clicking here. They’ll then need to put up with any bugs that may be discovered.

The dongle plugs effortlessly into your iPhone’s audio jack and allows for credit card payments to be swiped through the dongle. Users can then text or email receipts all while paying over an encrypted (secure) system.
